This sensational new production is a thrilling jukebox epic book writer David West Read. The storyline is originally based on the Romeo and Juliet story but this one takes a seriously different turn! The music and lyrics are provided by legendary pop songwriter Max Martin and you know what this means – & Juliet will be pouring out some of the hottest Billboard charting pop hits like Backstreet Boys’ “Larger Than Life,” Britney Spears’ “Hit Me Baby One More Time,” Jessie J’s “Domino,” Katy Perry’s “I Kissed A Girl,” and tons more! PLOT

The life of Juliet didn’t end with Romeo’s death, in fact, our heroine chose to live on instead of killing herself for the sake of love. During Romeo’s funeral, she discovers that her “soulmate” has many other relationships (with both men and women). Here, Juliet finds herself. Her parents sent her to the convent, Her friends May and Angelique rescue her, while Shakespear’s wife Anne joins the group. The four friends go on a road trip to Paris, where they join various parties, bond about their lives and shared experiences. All seems great until Shakespear, the narrator and storyteller, decides to bring Romeo back. How will Juliet fare with her new life now that her lover is back? The musical was met with great reception and even earned a ton of accolades. Its London West End productions secured nine Laurence Olivier Award nominations including the the nomination for Best New Musical, and won three awards. Over in New York, the musical received nine Tony nominations including nominations for Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical. Other prestigious nominations include six Outer Critics Circle Award nominations, two Dama Desk nominations, two Chita Rivera Award nominations.

CREATIVE TEAM

This colorful and incredibly dynamic musical is led by director Luke Sheppard with choreographer Jennifer Webber and music supervision, orchestration and arrangement by Bill Sherman.
